It's been a hot minute since I've kongpiled a bunch of WIP stuff for a possible GAME now huh?
Heres some character art.
Spondooly and Scongili Engaged in Combat
Spondooly is the main antagonist of The Great Scongili Caper and seeks to rule south eastern wisconsin with his line of terrible craft beers, will he succeed, or will Scongili beat him to death with a brick?
Nocchi
More detailed artwork of Nocchi Llito, the Zone Boss in charge of warehousing. He's resigned himself to the uninteresting life of a Warehouse Operations Manager.
Rough Line Up and Size Comparison of the Spondooly Execs
The goal is to have Spondooly be freakishly large even compared to Scongili, and Scongili is already shaped like Super Mario Bros 1 Mario, he's a gd square. From left to right after the two, there's Nocchi, Greta, Ray, and Perci. Zone Bosses in charge of Warehousing, Administrations, Production, and Marketing, respectively.
That's it for character art for the moment, now let's see some BACKGROUNDS
An Autumn Road
The game will take place in Fall, my faaavorite season. I love getting to use a bunch of reds and oranges and contrast them with some PURPLES. This particular background is much closer to completeness and resolution to what the in-game backgrounds are going to be like.
Industrial Park 1
The first bit of concept art I started doing for possible backgrounds. I want the game to have some pretty unconvential color pallets/palettes or whatever the right version of the word is. A lot of people have mentioned to me that these give off Ed Edd n Eddy vibes and that is exactly what I'm going for, I adore the backgrounds in EEnE and want to scratch a similar sniff yknow.
The Big Smelly Deli
Last background, not too much to say. Wanted to clean up something farther after the industrial park concept stuff.
That's it for now, a hehehehehahahhooho oh yeah and an important note I should establish, I'm not going for a pixel-art look. I have to work in a smaller resolution than I normally would for the sake of load times. I remember asking the guy who's making Pizza Tower if the pixel-art was a stylistic choice or a limitation of the engine and he said that Gamemaker (the engine I'm looking at using) doesn't handle a lot of high resolution sprites and backgrounds well. So that's the reason why it's a bit CRUNCHY.
